TRESA CRD

Effluent treatment at the analyzer for Roche biochemistry systems

A compact plug & run unit installed next to the analyzer. TRESA CRD combines active-carbon and ion-exchange filtration with 254 nm UV-C treatment, for concentrated and non-concentrated effluent from selected Roche Diagnostics biochemistry analyzers.

TRESA CRD compact effluent treatment unit with UV-C chamber at the front

Designed for

  • Laboratories running Roche Diagnostics biochemistry analyzers
  • Treatment of concentrated and non-concentrated analyzer effluent at the point of generation
  • Installations where the unit sits directly next to a single analyzer

Key features

  • Compact plug & run unit installed next to the analyzer
  • Active-carbon and ion-exchange filtration
  • UV-C treatment at 254 nm

Treatment process

Filtration + UV-C. Filtration reduces selected chemical contaminants before UV-C treatment provides microbial inactivation.

  1. Collect

Effluent flows from the analyzer directly into the unit.

  2. Chemical treatment

The chemical treatment is achieved through a combination of active-carbon filtration and resin ion exchangers. This technology eliminates copper, phenols and AOX (adsorbable organic halogens).

  3. Bacteriological treatment

The 254 nm UV-C lamp neutralizes microorganisms by destroying their nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA.

  4. Discharge

Treated effluent goes to an approved drain, subject to local requirements.

TRESA CRD questions

Which analyzers is TRESA CRD designed for?

TRESA CRD is designed for selected Roche Diagnostics biochemistry analyzers and is installed next to a single analyzer.

How does TRESA CRD treat the effluent?

Chemical treatment combines active-carbon filtration and resin ion exchangers, eliminating copper, phenols and AOX. A 254 nm UV-C lamp then provides bacteriological treatment.

How big is TRESA CRD?

It measures 450 × 450 × 300 mm (H × L × W), uses 100 W and runs on 230 V.
